A SPARKLING COFFEE GROWN AT THE BASE OF REKO MOUNTAIN
In the Kochere district of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, stands the mighty Reko mountain. This tall, thin peak whose name translates to “challenge,” referring to the arduous task of summiting the cliffs, is where the coffee gets its namesake. The coffee producers here have adopted its symbolic value to refer to their challenge of cultivating and processing the best coffee in the region. Coffee grown in Yirgacheffe is marked by its floral, tea-like, and complex quality, grown and processed only a stone’s throw away from the world’s most unique and rare varieties. Even among world-class coffees, Reko remains a knock-out example of washed Ethiopian flavor.
2025 marks the twelfth year having Reko on our menu, and it is as stunning as ever. This harvest is bursting with citrus, sweet candied ginger and a delicate florality, expressed as lavender on our cupping table. To get the most out of Reko, experiment with different brew methods and enjoy the full range of this exceptional coffee.
