A MULTIGENERATIONAL COFFEE GROWN ON THE "FARM OF THE GODS"

Husband and wife duo Ellen and Stuart Prentice oversee a 19-hectare farm, encompassing a multitude of microclimates. Ellen inherited the farm from her father in the early 70s, falling in love with the coffee growing process and planting more and more on the land. Together with their daughter Ashley, they’ve established state-of-the-art processing equipment for their farm, Finca De Dios (Farm of the Gods). Ellen handles coffee growing with her studies in agronomy, Stuart handles innovation by supplying the farm with fresh water from a nearby river and building raised drying beds, and Ashley handles selling the green coffee. We’ve partnered with the Prentice family since 2009, primarily buying coffees from the highest elevation lots on their land. In this year’s coffee, expect notes of pear, honey, and grapefruit.

OUR FARMERS

At Madcap, we believe the best coffee starts at the very beginning. We founded our company by forging relationships with the farmers who grow our coffee, learning their stories, and securing transparency and fair wages throughout our supply chain. Not only is this just the right way to do business, it also happens to lead to the best coffee, fruit to cup.

Our Roastery

At Madcap we obsess over details. We live, breathe, and sleep coffee and are in constant pursuit of the ethereal perfect cup. That’s why we roast in-house, our team of expert obsessives lovingly bringing each bean's potential to life, unlocking flavors sealed in the depths.
