Karina and her brother José represent the third generation of coffee producers on the farm. Having learned the craft from their father, the award-winning duo has spent the past decade stewarding Finca Santa Cruz in Chiapas, producing coffees that continue to earn international recognition.
The farm's legacy is reflected in an extraordinary record of Cup of Excellence achievements: 1st Place in 2019, 1st Place in 2021, 1st Place in 2022, 2nd Place in 2023, 2nd and 3rd Place for honey and natural process lots in 2024, 1st Place for washed process in 2025, and 1st Place for both honey and natural process lots in 2025.
Few producers have demonstrated this level of consistency across both variety and processing style, making Finca Santa Cruz one of Mexico's most celebrated coffee farms.
