A PUNCHY AA SELECTION FROM THE ILLUSTRIOUS RIANJAGI WASHING STATION
On the southwestern slopes of Mount Kenya, Rianjagi has grown from a cooperative of roughly 550 farmers to one representing 2,000 producers today. The factory and cooperative are farmer-owned, creating a shared structure for producers to access agricultural training and bring their coffees to market. Today, that story includes a majority women-led board of directors. An uncommon model of leadership within East African coffee.
That same collective attention carries through processing. Cherries are carefully sorted before pulping, sorted again by density, fermented, washed, soaked, and dried slowly on raised beds. For this release, we selected the larger, denser AA grade, showcasing the clarity and sweetness that first drew us to Rianjagi years ago.
