DIVE IN AND ENJOY THIS JUICY SUMMER SEASONAL BLEND
When creating seasonal blends, our roasting team aims to capture the feelings and flavors reminiscent of that particular season. Berry picking, afternoons spent on Lake Michigan beaches, and that first ice cold lemonade of the season all inspired this year’s Summer Solstice blend. Ready for some sunshine?
With any of our seasonal coffee blends, the blend should highlight the strength of its components, as well as present a totally new tasting experience. Two coffees from Ethiopia - naturally processed Gora Kone and washed processed Worka Chelbesa - were selected for this year’s Summer Solstice. Worka Chelbesa, an area well known for quality coffee, hails from Gedeb in the southernmost Wordea district of the Gedeo Zone and provides a clean and sunny base for the blend. The second component, Gora Kone from the Sidama region of Ethiopia, brings the summer fruits and radiant acidity. Produced by 600-1000 small-farm producers, the mountainsides surrounding the Gora Kone washing station provide ideal terroir for growing robust coffee trees.
Once combined, the resulting blend is deliciously juicy, with expressive notes of berries, lemonade, and apricot. Especially excellent over ice, enjoy Summer Solstice brewed or as a lively espresso all summer long.
