1041 Fulton Collection 

In the summer of 2017, Madcap Coffee opened its doors on 1041 Fulton Street East for the first time. Long before then however, 1041 Fulton was once a window manufacturer, an auto body shop, and even a gas station, amongst other things. 

Guests can find remnants of these identities in the cafe today, such as the red cement floor, the preserved Safety and Health Compliance statement from 1970, and of course, the garage door.

When dreaming up designs for the collection, we were inspired by the cafe’s polished terracotta-hued cement floor. We’ve warmly dubbed this shade “Fulton Red,” and incorporated it into the design of the 1041 Fulton Hat and 1041 Fulton Milk Glass Mug pieces.  The “1041” detailing also present on the hat and milk glass mug is reminiscent of the neon sign atop Fulton’s cafe. When choosing the shirt for the Fulton collection, the classic mechanic shop silhouette of a Dickies work shirt felt like a natural decision. 

Today, 1041 Fulton is more than just a neighborhood coffee shop. The cafe is connected to our offices and the coffee roastery, where all of our coffee arrives from our producer partners, is carefully roasted and then distributed all across the country. 1041 Fulton represents the pulse of our headquarters, and this collection is in celebration of all of its lives, past and present.
