Introducing dito coffee: a Project of Madcap Coffee

The specialty coffee landscape - from growing, processing, exporting, roasting, and retailing - has seen a ton of change since the world shut down in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Climate change, the impact of inflation and economic instability have all affected the way coffee drinkers seek out and enjoy their coffee. 

With rising costs across the coffee seed-to-cup process and an ever-changing specialty coffee  market, we wanted to offer a solution to those who find themselves unable to access premium specialty coffees.

Introducing dito coffee: a Project of Madcap Coffee. 

dito (di-dō) gets its name from the latin word meaning “to enrich.” dito’s coffee is sourced, roasted, and packaged by the familiar faces with the same values at Madcap. The price point is more accessible, the coffee is delicious, and the energy is just straight up fun. 

dito allows us to buy deeper from our existing partners, sharing even more of their coffee with a larger demographic. The main goal of dito is to get really good coffee into more folks hands, while taking ourselves a little less seriously.

The packaging is thoughtful, using bouncier shapes and lowercase letters all in candy-coated colors. A simple guide is present on the label - are you looking for a coffee that is comforting, deep, and rich? Perhaps you’d rather sip on something on the opposite side of the scale,  fruitier, brighter and more fun. 

When choosing the coffees for our inaugural blends, we wanted to make sure we were offering blends that were easy to brew no matter the skill level, remained affordable, and tasted really, really good. Thus, weekend and spark were born.

weekend is a rich blend of washed coffees from South America, with notes of brown sugar and sweet caramel, perfect for recreating that coffee-in-bed feeling any day of the week. 

spark is composed of washed and pulped natural components from South and Central America. Characterized by notes of cherry and milk chocolate, spark is crushable as drip or espresso.
